About the role:
We're now looking for a Vehicle Technician to join our growing team and help us continue delivering the highest standards of workmanship and customer care. This role involves diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a variety of vehicles, ensuring they operate safely and efficiently.
Key duties:
· Diagnose and repair vehicle faults using technical manuals and schematics
· Perform routine maintenance and repairs (engine, transmission, brakes, electrics)
· Use hand and power tools for vehicle assembly/disassembly
· Carry out welding and equipment repairs when required
· Perform vehicle diagnostics including ADAS and geometry
· Carry out pre-MOT repairs to VOSA MOT standards
· Complete mechanical repairs on Ambulance Trust vehicles
· Maintain a clean, safe, and organised workshop environment
· Handle heavy lifting tasks during repairs and maintenance
· Work effectively as part of a team to deliver high standards of care and satisfaction
About you:
· Proven mechanical knowledge with at least 2 years’ experience in vehicle repair & maintenance (essential)
· NVQ Level 3 Vehicle Technician qualification (essential)
· Right to work in the UK (essential)
· Full clean driving licence (essential)
· C1 (desirable but not essential)
· F-gas accreditation (desirable but not essential)
· Confident using hand and power tools
· Confident using diagnostic software
· Familiarity with schematics for diagnosing vehicle issues
· Strong customer service and communication skills
· Ability to prioritise tasks and work effectively in a team
· Capability to safely perform heavy lifting when required
